The article discusses the special features of V. M. Shukshin women’s names. The author analyzes personal names, patronymics, surnames, nicknames mothers, wives, girlfriends, single women, heroines of works by V. M. Shukshin. Special attention directs on the connection of personal names with traits of the characters, author and readers’ attitude to the characters.
