Abstract:

The article discusses one type of dissected syntactic constructs — embedded multiplex constructs, about which scientists do not have a unanimous opinion. Some scientists attribute these structures to a special kind of
parcellation, others do not single out this type of constructs at all, ignoring
the graphical differences between these structures and the parceled ones.
None of the researchers pays any attention to other features of inparcellised
constructs. These structures are typical not only for A. S. Pushkin’s poetry,
but also for his prose. The article analyzes some principles of syntactic organization of A. S. Pushkin’s prose works, identifi es the types of paired constructions and their structurally determined functions. The research proves
that these types of structures are different from parcellation.  The article focuses on inparcellised constructions with exclamation and
question marks, most typical for A. S. Pushkin’s prose, where inparcellate
is one of the homogeneous predicates, either single or with a group of distributors. An attachment component in these structures contains compensating information. The paired construct may be in a form of a transformed
question-response structure. It is important to emphasize that the author
uses the “syntagmatic stringing” of inparcellate. Through inparcellation
Pushkin actualizes each action of the character, while the exclamation mark
that separates inparcellate performs the function of an expressoid.
