Abstract:

The book by Mikhail Viktorovich Panov “The Language of Russian poetry of the XVIII–XX centuries: a course of lectures” was published. The texts of lectures given by M. V. Panov at the philological faculty of Moscow state University M. V. Lomonosov became available. These lectures were one of the most striking cultural events of the 70s–80s of the twentieth century. The author focuses on the linguistically conscious movement of the Russian verse. Panov sought to describe the artistic world of each poet within a s ingle scheme: sound (phonetic and metric) — verbal level — figurative level. Through the movement of the material within this scheme gentry showed the dialectic development of the poetic language, finding a capacious and imaginative formulas of the description, acquainting students with a few texts and names.
